Native meadows of wildflowers and grasses are a wonderful alternative to a large expanse of high-maintenance mown turf. Unfortunately, misguided attempts to create meadows, like prepared wildflower seed packages, all too frequently result in failure, leading to a perception that meadows may not work in our region.

A meadow is a matrix of plants that support each other in complex ways throughout their growth to maturity. No two meadows result in the same successional pattern or mature plant community due to the many factors that affect a meadow's development. Creating a stable, healthy meadow requires horticultural knowledge and meadow making experience in order to design an appropriate mix for your property conditions and esthetic desires.

Campbell Natural Landscape Design has the experience and expertise to design, install and help you maintain a successful meadow planting for your property.
